Contact Nr. 9 of the 13-pole trailer hitch connexion assenbly (after DIN/ISO 11446) or the Multicon trailer hitch connexion assembly is designated for the connection of a steady plus cable, i.e. this contact could be (if required) connected directly to the drawing vehicle battery. The steady plus maintenance of the trailer hitch connexion assembly, e.g. is very often necessary during the entrainment of a caravan, perhaps for operating a fridge or the inside light. But this also contains a certain risk: while the motor of the drawing vehicle is fixed, the loads of the caravan discharge the battery of the drawing vehicle. Depending on the dimension and the charge of battery, the power requirement of the loads and the time of the discharging, the battery will be discharged in such an amount, that the motor of the drawing vehicle can´t be started anymore unaided.
